The Palencia Club
On-site services and screenings.
Who we work with
Two local clubs, both built around sports that load the same tissue over and over. We provide screenings and assessments for their members, on site where that is more useful than asking people to come to us.

Partner marks and their own approved wording are being finalised with each club, so this page describes the relationships in our words rather than theirs for now.
A golf swing and a pickleball rally are different games with the same underlying demand: rotate, decelerate, repeat, several hundred times, usually without an off-season. That pattern is very good at finding whichever joint in a chain has quietly stopped contributing, and very good at hiding it until something further along complains.
It is also a population that plays through the early signs. A hip that has lost a little rotation is not painful; the low back that starts compensating for it eventually is. Catching the first one is considerably cheaper than treating the second, which is the entire argument for a screening, and it is the pattern behind most of what the MedlinePlus overview of sports injuries describes as an overuse rather than an acute injury.
Dr. Sisak is Titleist Performance Institute Medical Level 3 certified, so the golf side of this is a formal methodology rather than an interest. There is more on what that involves on the TPI movement screen page.
A short physical assessment, not a treatment session and not a sales pitch. We look at how you move through the patterns your sport asks for, and tell you three things: what is restricted, what is compensating for it, and whether any of it warrants a proper examination.
Plenty of people are told nothing needs doing. That is a legitimate and fairly common outcome, and a screening that never produces one is not a screening.
The practice is also a member of St. Johns Chamber of Commerce, which is a genuine membership rather than a badge. Beyond that, our involvement in the county is the ordinary kind: we treat the people who live here, including quite a few of the ones who serve them.
The clinic sits at 276 Paseo Reyes Dr in St. Augustine, Florida, just off U.S. 1 at World Golf Parkway, near the entrance to the Palencia neighborhood. Most people coming in for a club screening or assessment drive in from across St. Johns County, and the office is a straight run up or down U.S. 1 from either end of it.
No. The partnerships mean members get screenings and assessments arranged through their club, but the practice is open to anyone in St. Johns County. Non-members book the same $47 evaluation as everyone else.
A short movement assessment rather than a treatment session: where you are restricted, where you are compensating, and whether anything needs a proper examination. If something does, you are told what and why. If nothing does, you are told that too.
Both load the same tissue repeatedly through a rotational pattern, and both have a player base that keeps playing through the early warning signs. They are also the two sports St. Johns County actually plays, and Dr. Sisak is Titleist Performance Institute certified for the first of them.
Ask. Call (904) 217-3982 and we can talk about what would actually be useful for your members. We would rather do one worthwhile screening day than a table in a corner nobody visits.
